November 2024: All Over The Place

November 2024: All Over The Place

November was a hectic month, with some time off of work seeing family and friends in the USA for Thanksgiving. I am really starting to feel like I take too many vacations...

Campfire

November is always a great month financially for the company, thanks to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year was no different. In terms of the actual work that got done, I had to enlist Jackson's help in preparing RJ Blain's projects for publication, but those are just about ready now and we'll publish them sometime in December. I also had to bring in two of my engineers to help get the wallets, carts, and gifting update over the line–this will also go live in December. It'll be a big update that much improves the purchasing and reading experience on Campfire.

I spent much of the month working on the aforementioned update, keeping up with support tickets, reviewing code, etc.

Trophy

Web Summit was fun and got us a bunch of contacts, one of whom become our first customer. That's one more than Rehance ever got 🥳 and hopefully we'll be able to leverage it into a couple more over the coming months.

The general plan for Trophy going forward is to focus on sales and acquiring more customers, while also building a couple of important features like push notifications and keeping the existing solution stable.

Startup Poznan

Hosted another meetup in November. About the same number of people as last time (~15) and good conversations! At some point next year, I'll likely try to host a meetup on a Saturday in a coworking space or similar, to see if we can get some actual work done and push people to speed up their progress on their projects.

But for now, I'm building up the roster of tech founders.

Plans for December

  • Deploy carts/wallets/gifting + manuscript update for Campfire
  • Publish RJ Blain's 74 titles on Campfire
  • Make progress on The House Witch
  • Get another Trophy customer or two, fix bugs, and work on some new features
  • Host another Startup Poznan meetup
  • Fly to Portugal and enjoy a week of working by the beach there
  • Enjoy Christmas
